Classes

Four disciplines are currently being offered in the undergraduation program of the Design Department at the Federal University of Pernambuco, and a single discipline in the graduate (MsC/PhD) program in design (PPGDesign) of the Federal University of Pernambuco.

Experience oriented design
MsC / PhD | graduate program in design at federal university of Pernambuco

The present discipline of the graduate program in design seeks to deepen studies on issues present in what has now been treated as "user experience". This intangible formulation we call "experience" is associated with the feelings and emotions developed in our (subjective) relationship with the artifacts. The proposal of this component is to develop the theoretical-practical foundation on the questions of experience, with the objective of reversing (or minimizing) the incidental character of positive valence in the design project.

Digital publishing and digital narrative artifacts
Advanced level | undergraduate program in design at federal university of Pernambuco

The proposal of this curricular component is to develop digital practice and knowledge on narrative artifacts such as books, magazines, and other formats through which we can tell stories, in the process of translating a physical artifact into a computational artifact, or in the creation of an object whose support and nature are exclusively digital.

Generative design
Intermediate level | undergraduate program in design at federal university of Pernambuco

The proposal of this curricular component is to work the principles of computer programming through simple and didactic languages, created to be used by artists, designers and professionals without deep training in computation, so that they can incorporate this technology as part of their own tools, techniques and methods that can be used to create innovative forms, objects or artifacts, taking advantage of the multimedia nature of the computer media as a resource or form of expression.

Digital design
Intermediate level | undergraduate program in design at federal university of Pernambuco

The purpose of this curricular component is to prepare the student to propose, sketch, question, design, represent, plan, evaluate and document computer media artifacts. It emphasizes the process of reflection-proposition (which allows it to create and respond materially and concretely to the needs and problems present in a project), and circumscribes the problem of representation (visual, sound, audiovisual or multimedia) as a project development tool for construction of a consistent, well-resolved and well-finished design.

Webdesign
Basic level | undergraduate program in design at federal university of Pernambuco

The proposal of this curricular component is to prepare the student for the activities, practices and reasoning involved in the construction of a specific digital media format, the website. Although common, this type of project is complex and involves technical, technological and productive issues, as well as the challenges present in the construction of a graphic-visual expression that provides identity, identification, communication and meaning.
